Players need somewhere to actually decompress between fights, and that's where campsite scenes come in. These are rest stops where you can heal up, upgrade moves, practice combos, and sometimes find artifacts that unlock new options. The challenge was creating something that felt cozy enough for players to want to hang out instead of just blazing through the menus.
The solution was pretty straightforward. I animated Volley in a relaxed idle loop and built the scene using our modular environment assets. Nothing fancy, just something that gave players a genuine breather and set the right mood. The whole thing renders behind the UI so players can mess around with their builds while the character chills by the fire.
It's a small detail, but these moments between the chaos matter. Players need somewhere to decompress and figure out their strategy for the next fight without feeling rushed. Sometimes the quiet moments are just as important as the action.
